A. Who fixes what? Laptops

  • If a laptop needs repair, the first line of contact is the school's Technology Facilitator.
  • If the Technology Facilitator cannot repair the problem, he or she will contact the Help Desk.
  • The Help Desk will assign the problem to a technician.
  • If the IT technician is unable to repair the laptop and the laptop is under warranty, the technician will contact Dell who will come out and perform the repair.
  • If the computer is outside of warranty, the technician will propose an alternative solution (i.e. the teacher can then elect to contact their department head who may be in a position to replace the laptop.) Obtaining warranty information.
  • Failing that, financial responsibility lies with the school.
