Part 3: Online Applications and Software

Durham Public Schools pays for the subscriptions for the following websites.  Contact the Technology Facilitator, Media Coordinator or designee at your school for the login information to these programs.

NCWISE is web-based software used to take attendance and manage student grades and other information. Usernames are set by NCDPI and passwords are handled by the school level NC Wise Database Manager.

Schools that choose to adopt Plone as their web site solution are eligible to have pages created and assigned to be edited by teachers.  

Durham Public Schools’ Software Portfolio contains over 250 software programs.  These programs have been through the Software Approval process.  When considering the purchase of a software program, please look at the approved list first to determine if DPS already has a program that will suit your needs.  

Aesop ( is an automated substitute placement service used by DPS.
