2015 Superintendent's Future Leaders Program


PROGRAM BACKGROUND: The Superintendent’s Future Leaders Program (SFLP) is a cohort-based professional development opportunity for Durham Public Schools employees that aspire to assume the role of principal/assistant principal within the next school year. The program is designed to provide targeted sessions aligned to the North Carolina School Executive Framework.

The program will run from September 2015 to May 2016 with eight meetings including an informational overview session, seven learning sessions, and a culminating graduation ceremony. During the seven monthly, one-half day sessions, the SFLP focuses on data-driven, instructional, organizational, and transformational leadership strategies to support promising school leaders in resolving problems of practice and accelerating student achievement.

This Superintendent’s Future Leaders Program sessions will be held monthly from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Staff Development Center, 2107 Hillandale Road.

Understanding Your Leadership Style

Understanding School Climate & Culture;
Instructional Leadership;
Data-Driven Accountability;

Focus Forward
SFLP Interview Clinic;
Presentation & Business Communication Skill Development

The SFLP online application is due Friday, August 26, 2015, and must be time-stamped by 5:00 p.m. Participants who successfully complete all of the course requirements will receive a Certificate of Program Completion and renewal credits.
