Magnet Application and Lottery Process


    1.     Applications must be submitted by the parent or guardian through the DPS website, at, and a SmartChoice account created during the published application window.
    2.     Following the closing of the application window,the lottery is conducted for each magnet school with the priorities outlined by Board Policy #4131- Program Magnet Schools and #4133 - Calendar
            Magnet Schools.

    3.     Lottery results will be posted on the online dashboard of every applicant indicating whether the applicant was selected or not selected to the magnet school/program or CTE Pathway applied for.                 The dashboard can be accessed 24/7 by the applicant logging into their SmartChoice online account. Notification letters will not be provided. All communication, confirmations and notifications are             provided online.
